About Us

A global Tradition of Growth

A Global Tradition of Growth
Rites of passage are deeply rooted in the traditions of countless cultures, each offering a unique path to maturity. Across the globe, these rituals symbolize courage, self-discovery, and the acceptance of new responsibilities:
In the Amazon Rainforest, boys of the Satere-Mawe tribe endure the bullet ant glove ritual to demonstrate their strength and readiness for adulthood.

In Pacific Island cultures, ceremonies like the land diving of Vanuatu test bravery and connect boys to the wisdom of their ancestors.
In Hindu traditions, the Upanayana marks a boy’s entry into spiritual education and adulthood, guided by elders.
Though the methods differ, the purpose remains the same: to prepare young men for a life of contribution, integrity, and leadership.

Our mission is to guide fathers and sons on a transformative journey to strengthen their bond, fostering growth and awareness. Through meaningful rituals, we aim to cultivate healthier, stronger men in society

Trips Plan

An Unforgettable Father-Son Adventure to Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu’s breathtaking mountains, valleys, and ruins provide an ideal setting for introspection, connection with nature, and growth. The physical challenges of trekking Machu Picchu demand that fathers and sons overcome obstacles as a team.

Why it matters – In many modern cultures, structured rites of passage have faded, leaving boys without clear guidance as they navigate the challenges of adolescence. Without mentorship and meaningful transitions, young men can struggle with issues like identity, emotional regulation, and a sense of belonging.
By reviving these traditions, we create opportunities for boys to:
Connect to Purpose: Find meaning in their lives and their roles in their communities.
Build Resilience: Learn to overcome challenges with courage and self-awareness.
Develop Healthy Masculinity: Embrace emotional strength, empathy, and integrity.

What Happened to Rites of Passage?

While Rites of Passage have been practiced by numerous cultures around the world for thousands of years–, serving as important milestones in the journey from childhood to adulthood–this crucial has largely been overlooked in contemporary culture. Man Up Journeys aims to restore this time-honored tradition while fortifying the father-son relationship.

Why do we need to restore Rites of Passage?

Today, young men are frequently treated to confusing mixed messages in our rapidly changing culture. What is toxic masculinity? How is that different from being a strong, present, and supportive man? Some days will be strenuous. Our two longest days will have a lot of hiking and it will be steep considering we will reach one of the highest points of Macchu Picchu area. The days that will be less strenuous will be more facliction work throughout the day.

The hiking isn’t dangerous, there are many tour guide alongside us while we are hiking the steep mountains of Macchu Picchu who know this route and have done this trip countless of times. In case of emergency there are satellite powered cell phones to contact the appropriate people needed.

The food during this hiking trip is amazing, you will have the opportunity to experience and delight in the traditional Peruvian cuisine, which is a delicious blend of indigenous, Spanish, and other influences. There will be local chefs who will come along this trip that will provide us authentic local food.

You do not need to be an experienced hiker to join along on this trip. There will be some challenging parts for some people depending on their activity level, but it is all part of the Rite of Passage experience, enduring hardship.

No. We welcome people from all different religions and belief systems that wish to show up in the world in a positive way.

The amount of hiking can vary greatly depending on individual perceptions. To provide clarity, we cover approximately 6-10 miles per day on average, with some days involving steeper and more challenging terrain. This ensures participants have a clear understanding of the physical demands.

The guides carry satellite cellphones and can get in touch with medical care. I would call the trip company and get more information on what they do in case of an emergency to add it here.
